We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Surgery Scheduler for our Head & Neck Surgery department in Westwood. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients, ensuring seamless and efficient delivery of care. This is a critical position that requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.   1. Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients in the Head & Neck Surgery department.
  2. Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and timely delivery of care.
  3. Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions, answer questions, and address concerns.
  4. Obtain and verify all necessary patient information and medical records for surgical procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules for surgical procedures, including any changes or cancellations.
  6. Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for surgeries and ensure proper billing and coding.
  7. Review surgical requests to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Assist in coordinating pre-operative tests and appointments for patients.
  9. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth communication and coordination of care.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  11. Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available for scheduled procedures.
  12. Keep track of surgical inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  14. Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, procedures, and insurance requirements.
  15. Collaborate with other surgery schedulers and team members to ensure efficient workflow and coverage for the department.
  16. Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required.
  17. Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Surgical Scheduling, Preferably In A Head And Neck Surgery Department.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Head And Neck Surgery, As Well As Understanding Of Insurance And Billing Processes.

  • Proficiency In Computer Skills, Including Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize In A Fast-Paced Environment.
