  1. Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
  2. Develop customized treatment plans based on individual patient needs and goals.
  3. Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  4. Monitor and track patient progress throughout the course of treatment.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  7. Stay updated on advancements in speech pathology and incorporate new techniques into practice.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress.
  9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
  10. Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
  11. Provide support and guidance to clinical staff, including speech pathology assistants and students.
  12. Promote UCLA Health's mission and values through excellent patient care and professional conduct.
  13. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  14. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: All Applicants For A Speech Pathologist Job At Ucla Health Must Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc-Slp): Candidates Must Have A Valid And Current Certificate Of Clinical Competence From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • California State License: To Work As A Speech Pathologist At Ucla Health, Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Current License From The California Speech-Language Pathology And Audiology Board.

  • Experience Working With A Diverse Patient Population: At Ucla Health, Speech Pathologists Work With A Wide Range Of Patients From Diverse Backgrounds. Candidates Must Have Previous Experience Working With Diverse Populations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Speech Pathologist, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Provide Quality Care To Patients And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written.
