  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the research administration process, including budgeting, grant applications, compliance, and reporting.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with researchers, department heads, and external partners to ensure efficient and effective research operations.
  3. Create and implement processes and procedures for streamlining research administration tasks and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  4. Monitor and manage research budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting, and reporting.
  5. Provide guidance and support to researchers in navigating grant applications, ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements, and managing post-award activities.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in research administration to continuously improve processes and operations.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and human resources, to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
  8. Prepare and present reports on research activities, including budget, progress, and outcomes, to senior management and funding agencies.
  9. Train and mentor junior research administration staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
  10. Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, and meetings related to research administration to promote UCLA Health's research efforts and build partnerships.
  11. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all research activities, including grants, contracts, and human subject research protocols.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements, conflict of interest policies, and data privacy laws.
  13. Participate in the development and implementation of new research initiatives and projects.
  14. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation in research administration within the organization.
  15. Promote UCLA Health's research efforts and contributions to the wider community through various communication channels.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field (E.g. Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Research Administration, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Compliance Requirements Related To Research Funding And Management.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage Budgets, And Meet Deadlines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders, Including Researchers, Faculty, And Funding Agencies.
