- Provide specialized and high-quality care to pediatric oncology patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, and provide interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Respond to changes in patients' conditions and report any concerns or complications to the healthcare team.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Advocate for patients and their families, and address any concerns or needs.
- Continuously improve and update knowledge and skills in pediatric oncology nursing.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support and resources to patients and families.
- Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Act as a role model for nursing staff and students.
Current Rn License In The State Of California.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution, With A Focus On Pediatric Care And Oncology.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Oncology Nursing.
Certification In Pediatric Oncology Nursing (Cpon) Preferred.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Compassionate Care To Pediatric Patients And Their Families.
