  1. Provide critical care and emergency transport services to patients in need, both on the ground and in the air.
  2. Work closely with other members of the Critical Care Transport team to provide life-saving care and ensure the safety and well-being of patients during transport.
  3. Utilize advanced critical care nursing skills to assess, monitor, and treat patients in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses to care.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during transport, including proper use of medical equipment and medications.
  7. Continuously monitor and evaluate patients during transport, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  8. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during transport, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current best practices and advancements in critical care and emergency transport, incorporating them into daily practice.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and enhance skills necessary for the role.
  11. Serve as a role model and mentor to other team members, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and dedication to providing high-quality care.
  12. Represent UCLA Health and the Critical Care Transport team in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  13. Assist with the maintenance and organization of equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of California: This Qualification Is Necessary To Practice As A Registered Nurse In The State Of California, Where Ucla Health Is Located. It Ensures That The Individual Has Met The State's Educational And Training Requirements For Nursing Practice.

  • Certification In Critical Care Transport: This Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Providing Care For Critically Ill Or Injured Patients During Transport. It Ensures That The Rn Is Able To Handle Complex Medical Situations And Make Critical Decisions While In Transit.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Nursing: This Qualification Ensures That The Rn Has A Strong Foundation In Critical Care Nursing And Is Able To Provide High-Quality Care To Critically Ill Patients. It Also Demonstrates A Level Of Experience And Competency In Handling Complex Medical Situations.

  • Bls, Acls, And Pals Certifications: These Certifications Are Essential For The Safe And Effective Management Of Patients In Critical Care Transport. Bls (Basic Life Support), Acls (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), And Pals (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certifications Ensure That The Rn Is Trained In Resuscitation And Emergency Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Critical Care Transport Rn, The Individual Will Be Working Closely With A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Paramedics, Emts, And Physicians. Therefore, It Is Essential To Have Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Coordinate Patient Care During Transport.
