- Manage the financial aspects of research projects, including budget development, tracking expenses, and forecasting funding needs.
- Coordinate with researchers, department administrators, and external funding agencies to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to monitor project expenses and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Serve as a liaison between researchers and finance departments to facilitate the submission of grant proposals and manage post-award financial activities.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to funding guidelines.
- Review and approve financial transactions, including payroll, purchasing, and travel expenses, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Stay current on industry trends and regulations related to research finance and provide guidance and training to researchers and staff as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and project documentation.
- Communicate regularly with researchers and department leadership to provide financial updates and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Research Finance Administration, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Research Funding, Including Nih, Nsf, And Other Granting Agencies.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With Ability To Interpret Complex Financial Data And Provide Recommendations For Budget Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Researchers, Administrators, And External Stakeholders.
