- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff in times of crisis and illness.
- Understand and respect the diverse religious and cultural backgrounds of patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and their families, as well as with healthcare staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide holistic care to patients.
- Document all interactions with patients and their families in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in regular training and education to maintain knowledge of current practices and support techniques.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and their spiritual or religious communities, if desired.
- Provide spiritual and emotional guidance to patients and their families during end-of-life care.
- Maintain a calm and comforting presence during difficult situations.
- Facilitate religious or spiritual rituals, ceremonies, or prayers at the request of patients and their families.
- Stay up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures related to spiritual and emotional support for patients.
- Serve as a resource for staff seeking support or guidance in difficult situations.
- Attend and participate in hospital meetings and committees as necessary.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times and represent UCLA Health with integrity.
A Master's Degree In Divinity Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Ordination Or Endorsement From A Recognized Religious Organization.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Providing Spiritual Care Or Counseling In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations.
Availability To Be On-Call And Respond To Emergencies 24/7, Including Weekends And Holidays.
