- Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters in real-time, including patient medical history, physical exams, and treatment plans.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians to ensure all necessary information is recorded and documented accurately.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Assist with patient care tasks such as taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, and obtaining medical supplies.
- Organize and maintain patient records and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Continuously seek to improve and expand knowledge and skills in the field of ophthalmology.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
- Flexibly adapt to changing job duties and responsibilities.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Specific To Ophthalmology.
Experience With Electronic Medical Records (Emr) And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Encounters.
Previous Experience Working As A Medical Scribe In A Clinical Setting.
Familiarity With Ophthalmic Equipment And Ability To Assist With Basic Procedures, Such As Visual Acuity Tests And Tonometry.
