Inpatient Pharmacy Technician - IVAS

1. Perform IV admixture and sterile compounding under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
2. Accurately and safely prepare and label medications for inpatient use.
3. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of IV medications and supplies.
4. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients.
5. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding medication preparation and handling.
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IV compounding area.
7. Perform quality control checks and maintain documentation of all compounded medications.
8. Assist with training and education of new pharmacy technicians.
9. Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
10. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
11. Maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
12. Adhere to all UCLA Health policies and procedures.
13. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
14. Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure appropriate coverage and billing for medications.
15. Report any medication errors or adverse reactions to the appropriate parties.
16. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety by following all safety protocols and procedures.
17. Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with patients and colleagues.
18. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
19. Keep up to date with new medications and technology in the field of IV admixture and sterile compounding.
20. Assist with other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or lead pharmacist.
