
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician - IVAS

- Perform IV admixture and sterile compounding under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Accurately and safely prepare and label medications for inpatient use.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of IV medications and supplies.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding medication preparation and handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IV compounding area.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain documentation of all compounded medications.
- Assist with training and education of new pharmacy technicians.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Adhere to all UCLA Health policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure appropriate coverage and billing for medications.
- Report any medication errors or adverse reactions to the appropriate parties.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety by following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Keep up to date with new medications and technology in the field of IV admixture and sterile compounding.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or lead pharmacist.
Certification: Candidates For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician - Ivas Position At Ucla Health Must Have Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From The California State Board Of Pharmacy.
Ivas Experience: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Setting, With A Focus On Iv Medication Preparation And Administration.
Knowledge Of Medication Safety: A Strong Understanding Of Medication Safety Practices Is Essential For This Role, As Inpatient Pharmacy Technicians - Ivas Are Responsible For Accurately Preparing And Delivering Medications To Patients.
Attention To Detail: Inpatient Pharmacy Technicians - Ivas Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail In Order To Accurately Measure And Mix Medications, As Well As Ensure That All Orders Are Filled Correctly.
