  1. Provide individual and group art therapy sessions for patients with mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse.
  2. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, utilizing various art therapy techniques and interventions.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health needs and progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans, in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
  6. Stay updated on current research and best practices in art therapy, and incorporate new techniques and modalities into treatment plans as appropriate.
  7. Create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for patients to express themselves through art.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients, and help them develop coping strategies and skills to manage their mental health challenges.
  9. Advocate for the use of art therapy in healthcare and educate patients and their families about its benefits.
  10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  11. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Represent UCLA Health and the art therapy profession in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Art Therapy Or A Related Field (E.g. Counseling, Psychology)

  • Certification As A Registered Art Therapist (Atr) Through The Art Therapy Credentials Board

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Providing Art Therapy Services In A Clinical Setting

  • Ability To Work With A Diverse Patient Population And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Record Systems And Ability To Maintain Accurate And Timely Documentation Of Patient Sessions.
