Surgical Coordinator

1. Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients, ensuring all necessary pre-operative tasks are completed.
2. Communicate with patients, their families, and medical staff to provide information and answer any questions regarding the surgical process.
3. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgical appointments, procedures, and outcomes.
5. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel are available for each surgery.
6. Prepare and distribute surgical packets containing important information and instructions for patients.
7. Monitor and manage surgical supply inventory and order necessary items as needed.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures during surgical procedures.
9. Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff to ensure a smooth and positive surgical experience.
10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
11. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information.
12. Stay current on industry standards and changes in surgical procedures, techniques, and equipment.
13. Train and mentor new surgical coordinators as needed.
14. Collaborate with billing and insurance departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of surgical charges.
15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the overall patient experience.
