- Oversee the Health Information Management team and ensure the timely and accurate management of patient records.
- Utilize expertise in health information systems to effectively manage and maintain records.
- Mentor and guide team members to ensure their success and development in the field.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures related to health information management.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Provide training and support to team members on new systems and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in health information management.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records.
- Communicate effectively with team members, superiors, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Effectively manage and allocate resources to meet department goals and objectives.
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding process of new team members.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts within the team in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a liaison between the Health Information Management team and other departments within the organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field: A Supervisor In Health Information Management At Uchealth Should Have A Strong Educational Background In The Field, Including A Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field.
3-5 Years Of Experience In Health Information Management: Supervising A Team Of Health Information Management Professionals Requires A Thorough Understanding Of The Field. Therefore, Candidates For This Role Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In Health Information Management.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance: As A Supervisor In Health Information Management, It Is Important To Have A Deep Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations, Such As Hipaa, And Be Able To Ensure Compliance Within The Department.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: A Supervisor In Health Information Management At Uchealth Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Guide Their Team. Additionally, Excellent Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Collaborate With Other Departments And Communicate Important Information To Team Members.
Certification In Health Information Management: While Not Always Required, Having A Certification In Health Information Management, Such As The Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Certification, Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Dedication To The Field, Making A Candidate More Competitive For This Role.
