
Registered Nurse- Wound Care Clinic

- Provide exceptional patient care: The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse will be to provide excellent care to patients at the Wound Care Clinic. This includes assessing patient needs, creating treatment plans, administering medications, and monitoring patient progress.
- Utilize expertise in wound care: The RN will utilize their specialized knowledge and skills in wound care to provide the best possible treatment for patients. This includes staying up-to-date on current wound care practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: As a vital member of the healthcare team, the RN will collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and families: The RN will educate patients and their families on wound care management and prevention techniques. This may include demonstrating wound care techniques, providing educational materials, and answering any questions or concerns.
- Maintain patient records: It is the responsibility of the RN to accurately and thoroughly document patient information, treatment plans, and progress in electronic medical records.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition: The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, wound healing progress, and any changes in their condition. They will promptly report any concerns or changes to the healthcare team.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols: The RN will follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with procedures: The RN may assist physicians and wound care specialists with procedures such as debridement, dressing changes, and wound evaluations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives: The RN will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care are met.
- Maintain professional development: The RN will continuously seek opportunities for professional development and education in wound care to stay current with best practices and provide the best possible care for patients.
Valid Rn License: A Registered Nurse Working In A Wound Care Clinic At Uchealth Must Possess A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Where The Clinic Is Located.
Wound Care Certification: Candidates Should Have A Specialized Certification In Wound Care, Such As The Wound Care Certification (Wcc) Or Certified Wound Specialist (Cws), To Demonstrate Their Expertise In This Area.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Registered Nurse In A Wound Care Setting Is Typically Required For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation And Understanding Of Wound Care Best Practices.
Knowledge Of Wound Care Products And Technology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Wound Care Products, Dressings, And Other Supplies, As Well As Experience With Wound Care Technology Such As Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (Npwt) And Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (Hbot).
Strong Communication And Patient Education Skills: Working In A Wound Care Clinic Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Educate Patients And Their Families On Wound Care Management, As Well As Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals In The Clinic.
