- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the preoperative phase.
- Prepare patients for surgery by assessing their physical and emotional needs, reviewing medical history, and ensuring all necessary preparations are completed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their response to medications and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a safe and efficient perioperative process.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and progress.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, post-operative care, and potential complications.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing practices.
- Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices and technology in the perioperative field.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For A Registered Nurse - Preop Position At Uchealth. This Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Skills.
Current Rn License: A Valid And Current Rn License From The State Of Colorado Is Essential For This Position. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Authorized To Practice And Adhere To The State's Nursing Regulations.
Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For A Registered Nurse - Preop Position At Uchealth. These Certifications Demonstrate The Nurse's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Critical Care.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Preop Experience: Uchealth Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Preop Setting. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Familiar With The Specific Needs And Procedures Of Preoperative Care.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Crucial For A Registered Nurse - Preop Position.
