  1. Administer radiation therapy to patients according to treatment plans prescribed by physicians.
  2. Monitor and record patient progress during treatment, noting any changes or side effects.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and modify treatment plans as needed.
  4. Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed to protect both patients and staff.
  5. Educate patients on the treatment process, potential side effects, and ways to manage symptoms.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all treatments and interactions with patients.
  7. Keep up to date with advancements and changes in radiation therapy techniques and equipment.
  8. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families throughout the treatment process.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the delivery of patient care.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
  11. Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain authorization for treatments and ensure proper billing.
  12. Participate in quality assurance activities and assist with data collection for research projects.
  13. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.
  14. Act as an ambassador for UCHealth by providing exceptional patient care and promoting the organization's mission and values.
  15. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Is Required To Be Considered For A Radiation Therapist Position At Uchealth. This Degree Should Be From An Accredited Institution And Should Include Coursework In Anatomy, Physics, And Radiation Therapy Techniques.

  • Arrt Certification In Radiation Therapy: The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Certification In Radiation Therapy Is A Must-Have Qualification For This Job. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Knowledge And Competency In Radiation Therapy.

  • State Licensure: All Radiation Therapists At Uchealth Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice. This License Is Obtained By Passing The State-Specific Licensing Exam And Meeting Other Requirements Set By The State.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Ideally In A Hospital Or Medical Center, Is Highly Desirable For A Radiation Therapist Job At Uchealth. This Experience Helps The Candidate To Better Understand The Demands Of The Job And Allows Them To Hit The Ground Running.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Being Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team Is Crucial For A Radiation Therapist. A Uchealth Radiation Therapist Should Also Possess Excellent Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport With Patients And Provide Emotional Support During Treatment.
