Physician Assistant Inpatient Surgery

1. Conduct patient evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
2. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and following proper surgical protocols.
3. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and addressing any concerns or complications.
4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documenting all patient encounters, procedures, and treatments.
6. Participate in patient rounds and provide updates on patient progress to the surgical team.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based care plans.
8. Stay updated on current practices and procedures in surgical medicine and attend continuing education courses as necessary.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients and healthcare workers.
10. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
12. Act as a patient advocate and provide education and support to patients and families regarding their surgical procedures and post-operative care.
13. Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory.
14. Work collaboratively with the surgical team to improve processes and enhance patient care outcomes.
