- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory for testing in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including specimen collection information and patient demographics.
- Provide exceptional patient care by ensuring a comfortable and safe environment during the phlebotomy procedure.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing clear instructions and answering any questions or concerns.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest techniques and procedures in phlebotomy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication.
A Valid Phlebotomy Technician Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinic Environment.
Excellent Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Techniques, Including Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Blood Specimen Collection, Labeling, And Handling.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients In A Compassionate And Professional Manner.
Familiarity With Laboratory Information Systems And Electronic Medical Records, As Well As Proficiency In Accurately Documenting Patient Information And Test Results.
