
Perioperative Assistant

- Assist surgical team: The primary responsibility of a Perioperative Assistant is to assist the surgical team throughout all stages of the perioperative process. This includes preparing the operating room, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment: It is the responsibility of the Perioperative Assistant to maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room. This includes disinfecting equipment and surfaces, disposing of medical waste properly, and following infection control protocols.
- Provide support during procedures: During surgical procedures, the Perioperative Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the surgical team. This may include passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as directed by the surgeon.
- Prepare patients for surgery: The Perioperative Assistant is responsible for helping patients prepare for surgery. This may involve explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring the patient is comfortable and ready for surgery.
- Monitor patient vitals: During surgery, the Perioperative Assistant may be required to monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Assist with patient transfers: The Perioperative Assistant may be responsible for assisting with patient transfers to and from the operating room. This may involve moving patients from stretchers to the operating table and back after surgery.

- Adhere to safety protocols: The Perioperative Assistant must adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This includes following proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Provide post-operative care: After surgery, the Perioperative Assistant may be responsible for providing post-operative care to patients, including monitoring vitals, changing dressings, and providing comfort measures
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program Or Equivalent Training/Experience.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
