As a Perioperative Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our perioperative department.   1. Assist in the preoperative preparation of patients by ensuring they are properly prepped and comfortable before their procedures.
  2. Help transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  3. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly sterilized and organized.
  4. Anticipate and fulfill the needs of surgeons and surgical staff during procedures, such as providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  5. Monitor patient vital signs and report any abnormalities or concerns to the surgical team.
  6. Assist with positioning and preparing patients for surgery, following established protocols and safety measures.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment, including operating rooms and equipment.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and timely care for patients.
  9. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families before and after procedures.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for all involved.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  12. Continuously monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
  13. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge related to perioperative care.
  14. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient advocacy and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  15. Serve as a positive and professional representative of UCHealth, promoting our mission and values in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Requirement For A Perioperative Assistant Position At Uchealth Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Minimum Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification: Uchealth Prefers Candidates Who Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technology Program And Possess A Cst Certification. This Certification Demonstrates A Candidate's Proficiency In Surgical Procedures And Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In A Perioperative Or Surgical Environment, Are Highly Preferred For The Perioperative Assistant Position. This Experience Helps Them Better Understand The Role And Responsibilities Of The Job And Integrate Into The Team Quickly.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Healthcare Organization, Uchealth Requires All Employees To Have A Current Bls Certification. This Ensures That Candidates Are Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond Effectively In Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Perioperative Assistant Job At Uchealth Involves Working Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
