As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients are safely and efficiently transported throughout our facilities.   1. Safely and efficiently transport patients to and from various locations throughout the facility, including exam rooms, procedure areas, and diagnostic testing areas.
  2. Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport, including proper positioning and use of necessary equipment.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to provide a positive and welcoming experience.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient transports, including any necessary patient information or special instructions.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  6. Assist in the transfer of patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers as needed.
  7. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and transport needs.
  8. Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior during transport.
  9. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of transport equipment to ensure proper functioning and appearance.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of safety and transport protocols and procedures.
  11. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
  12. Collaborate with team members to identify and implement ways to improve patient transport processes and procedures.
  13. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or department leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Transporter At Uchealth Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.

  • Cpr Certification: Uchealth Requires All Patient Transporters To Be Certified In Cpr. This Is Essential For Providing Emergency Care And Assistance To Patients During Transport.

  • Good Communication Skills: As A Patient Transporter, You Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Staff. It Is Important To Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Important Information And Maintain A Positive And Professional Demeanor.

  • Physical Stamina: This Job Requires Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling Heavy Equipment And Patients On A Regular Basis. Candidates For This Position Should Have Good Physical Stamina And The Ability To Stand And Walk For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Customer Service Experience: Patient Transporters Are Often The First Point Of Contact For Patients And Visitors At The Hospital. Previous Experience In Customer Service Can Be Beneficial In This Role, As It Demonstrates The Ability To Handle Difficult Situations And Provide Excellent Patient Care.
