  1. Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  2. Monitoring and recording vital signs and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
  3. Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  4. Assisting with patient transfers and ambulation.
  5. Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.
  6. Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  7. Responding to patient call lights and requests in a timely manner.
  8. Assisting with procedures and treatments as directed by the healthcare team.
  9. Documenting patient information accurately and timely.
  10. Adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  11. Participating in patient care conferences and providing input on patient needs.
  12. Stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment in patient rooms.
  13. Collaborating with other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  14. Participating in continuing education and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  15. Maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights.
  16. Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  17. Demonstrating a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  18. Assisting with transportation of patients to and from appointments and procedures.
  19. Keeping accurate records of patient activities, meals, and fluid intake/output.
  20. Continuously seeking ways to improve patient care and department processes.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Assistant In Cardiology At Uchealth Should Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Is The Minimum Education Requirement For This Role.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: A Valid Cna Certification Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Basic Nursing Skills And Patient Care.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Particularly In Cardiology, Is Preferred. This Experience Helps The Candidate Understand The Specific Needs Of Patients In This Department.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Patient Care Assistant In Cardiology Should Have A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology. This Knowledge Enables Effective Communication With The Healthcare Team And Patients.

  • Ability To Multi-Task And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Cardiology Units At Uchealth Can Be Fast-Paced And Require The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Time-Management And Organizational Skills To Thrive In This Environment.
