- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression of our organization.
- Collect and verify patient information, including personal and insurance information, to ensure accurate and timely processing of appointments and procedures.
- Schedule appointments for patients and assist in coordinating their appointments with other departments and providers.
- Educate patients on their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities, and provide guidance on available payment options.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely patient flow throughout the facility.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues to provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or issues.
- Utilize electronic medical records systems to accurately document patient information and track appointment and procedure schedules.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance the patient experience.
- Train and mentor new Patient Access Specialists to ensure a high level of competency and adherence to organizational protocols.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date with insurance and billing regulations and changes to ensure accurate processing of patient information.
- Work closely with other departments and team members to promote a collaborative and patient-centered approach to care.
- Provide support to other areas of the organization as needed.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of UCHealth in all interactions and behaviors.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Patient Access Or Registration Role.
Advanced Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Plans, And Billing Processes.
Proficiency In Electronic Health Records (Ehr) And Scheduling Systems, Such As Epic Or Cerner.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Handle Difficult Or Sensitive Situations.
Strong Attention To Detail And Accuracy, With The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment.
