  1. Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive first impression of the organization.
  2. Accurately register and update patient information in the electronic medical records system.
  3. Collect and verify insurance information, including obtaining necessary authorizations and referrals.
  4. Explain registration processes, insurance coverage, and payment options to patients.
  5. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate patient flow and registration.
  7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  8. Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with patient information or insurance coverage.
  9. Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and obtaining required signatures.
  10. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling of appointments.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving patient concerns and complaints.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on changes in policies, procedures, and insurance regulations.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Meet performance goals and standards set by the organization.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and enhance the patient experience.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, English, And Computer Skills.

  • Previous Experience In Healthcare Registration: Prior Experience In A Similar Role In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Is Highly Preferred. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Verification, And Registration Processes.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Patient Access Registration Specialist, Effective Communication Is Crucial. The Candidate Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Professionally With Patients, Physicians, And Other Staff Members.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Essential In This Role As Any Errors In Registration Can Lead To Insurance Denials And Delays In Patient Care. The Candidate Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Enter Information Accurately Into The System.

  • Knowledge Of Insurance And Billing Processes: Familiarity With Different Insurance Plans, Billing Procedures, And Government Regulations Is Necessary For This Role. The Candidate Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Insurance Coverage, Deductibles, And Copays.
