- Conduct nutrition assessments and provide individualized nutrition plans for patients based on their medical needs and dietary restrictions.
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper nutrition and how it can impact their overall health and well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement nutrition interventions for patients.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to nutrition plans as needed.
- Document patient interactions and progress in electronic medical records.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current nutrition guidelines and trends in the healthcare industry.
- Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition education programs for patients and community outreach initiatives.
- Work closely with food service staff to ensure patients' dietary needs are met during their hospital stay.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to ensure a collaborative and patient-centered approach to nutrition care.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations in the preparation and handling of food.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay up-to-date on best practices in nutrition.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Represent UCHealth in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field.
Relevant Work Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting.
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Certified Nutrition Specialist (Cns) Certification.
Knowledge Of Current Nutrition Guidelines And Ability To Apply Them In A Clinical Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
