
Nutrition Assistant

- Provide exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming patients and visitors to UCHealth and offering assistance as needed.
- Assist with patient meal service, including serving meals, setting up trays, and ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure patients' nutritional needs are met and documented accurately.
- Monitor and record food intake of patients, noting any changes or concerns and reporting them to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Follow proper food handling and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide information and answer questions related to nutrition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nutrition department, including equipment, supplies, and work areas.
- Assist with inventory management and stocking of nutrition supplies.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on nutrition-related topics and best practices.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to promoting overall wellness and healthy eating habits.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure patient needs are met and patient care is coordinated.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the patient experience.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the nutrition supervisor or management team.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field
Certification As A Nutrition Assistant Or Registered Dietetic Technician (Dtr)
Previous Experience In A Clinical Or Healthcare Setting Preferred
Strong Understanding Of Nutrition Principles And Ability To Provide Nutrition Education And Counseling To Patients
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
