Fluency In Russian And English: A Medical Interpreter For Russian At Uchealth Must Have Exceptional Fluency In Both Russian And English, With The Ability To Accurately Interpret Medical Terminology And Concepts In Both Languages.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures In Both Russian And English, As Well As A Working Knowledge Of Common Medical Conditions And Treatments.
Cultural Competency: As A Medical Interpreter, It Is Important To Have A Deep Understanding Of The Cultural Nuances And Sensitivities Of Both The Russian And American Cultures In Order To Effectively Communicate And Bridge Any Potential Gaps In Understanding Between Patients And Providers.
Interpreting Experience: Prior Experience Working As A Medical Interpreter, Particularly In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Complex And Sensitive Medical Conversations With Accuracy And Professionalism.
Professional Training And Certification: Uchealth May Require Candidates To Have Completed A Professional Training Program And Hold A Certification In Medical Interpreting, Such As The National Board Certification For Medical Interpreters (Nbcmi) Or Certification Commission For Healthcare Interpreters (Cchi).
