- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential infection risks in the facility.
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.
- Educate and train staff on proper infection control protocols and practices.
- Monitor and track infection rates and develop strategies to reduce and prevent infections.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to investigate and control outbreaks of infections.
- Stay up-to-date on current infection control guidelines and best practices.
- Respond to and investigate any reported cases of healthcare-associated infections.
- Work closely with the Occupational Health and Safety department to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Communicate infection control data and trends to leadership and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to share best practices and stay informed on industry standards.
- Attend and participate in infection control meetings and committees.
- Serve as a resource for staff and patients in regards to infection control concerns and questions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of infection control data and activities.
- Participate in the development and review of emergency preparedness plans related to infection control.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of infection control.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field, With A Focus On Infection Control And Prevention.
Certification In Infection Prevention And Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Infection Control, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Infection Control, Including Cdc Guidelines And Osha Standards.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Healthcare Staff On Infection Prevention Protocols And Procedures.
