
HIM (Health Information Managment) Scanning Specialist

- Scan and upload patient documents and records into electronic health record system.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of scanned documents.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic health records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Retrieve and distribute requested records to authorized personnel in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track missing or incomplete documents and take necessary steps to obtain them.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Assist with auditing and quality control of health records to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health information management regulations and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues.
- Identify and report any issues or discrepancies in health records to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in department meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to scanning and electronic health record system.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Him Scanning Specialist Job At Uchealth Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
Certified Scanning Specialist: Uchealth Prefers Candidates Who Hold A Certification As A Scanning Specialist From An Accredited Organization Such As The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima) Or The Association For Information And Image Management (Aiim).
Experience In Health Information Management: Candidates With Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Health Information Management Department, Will Be Preferred For The Him Scanning Specialist Role At Uchealth. This Ensures Familiarity With The Healthcare Industry And Relevant Processes.
Proficiency In Health Information Technology: The Him Scanning Specialist Role At Uchealth Requires Working With Electronic Health Records (Ehrs) And Other Health Information Technology Systems. Therefore, Candidates With Prior Experience Or Knowledge In Health Information Technology, Such As Ehrs, Document Management Systems, And Scanning Software, Will Be Preferred.
