
Fire and Life Safety Coordinator

- Develop and maintain fire and life safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify potential fire and life safety hazards.
- Collaborate with facility management and staff to ensure compliance with fire and life safety standards.
- Develop and implement emergency evacuation plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular fire drills and provide training to staff on fire safety protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on all fire and life safety codes and regulations and ensure compliance across all facilities.
- Investigate and report any fire or life safety incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and smoke detectors.
- Coordinate with local fire departments and other emergency response agencies.
- Communicate and educate staff on fire and life safety measures and provide resources for ongoing education.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external fire and life safety agencies and stay informed of any changes in regulations.
- Lead and participate in emergency response teams and drills.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation of all fire and life safety activities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities management and human resources, to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Knowledge Of Local And National Fire Codes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Fire Codes And Regulations, Including Nfpa Standards, To Ensure Compliance And Maintain A Safe Environment.
Experience In Emergency Response: This Role Requires The Ability To Respond Quickly And Effectively In Emergency Situations. Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Emergency Response, Such As Fire Drills, Evacuation Procedures, And Disaster Management.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Fire And Life Safety Coordinator, The Candidate Will Need To Communicate With Staff, Patients, And External Agencies. Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For Effectively Relaying Safety Protocols And Procedures.
Attention To Detail: Fire And Life Safety Coordinators Must Pay Close Attention To Detail To Identify Potential Hazards And Ensure All Safety Measures Are In Place. They Should Also Have Experience In Conducting Thorough Safety Inspections And Audits.
Relevant Education And Certifications: A Degree In Fire Science, Emergency Management, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Position. Candidates Should Also Hold Relevant Certifications, Such As Certified Fire Protection Specialist (Cfps) Or Certified Fire Inspector (Cfi).
