
Director - Clinical Engineering

- Oversee the management and maintenance of all medical equipment and technology throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medical equipment and technology.
- Lead a team of clinical engineers and technicians, providing direction, guidance, and support in their daily tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments, including IT and clinical staff, to ensure seamless integration of technology into patient care.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in clinical engineering.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technology to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Manage the budget for the clinical engineering department, including equipment purchases and maintenance costs.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the proper functioning and safety of all medical equipment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Train and educate staff on the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience.
- Communicate with hospital leadership and other stakeholders regarding the status of equipment and any potential issues.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the clinical engineering department.
- Uphold the values and mission of UCHealth by providing the highest quality of care to our patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Clinical Engineering, With At Least 3 Years In A Managerial Or Leadership Role.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Medical Equipment Maintenance, Repair, And Regulatory Compliance.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Departments.
Familiarity With Healthcare Industry Standards And Regulations, Including The Joint Commission And Hipaa.
