- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with skin conditions under the direction of dermatologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer treatments, medications, and procedures specific to dermatology in a safe and effective manner.
- Assess and monitor patients' skin conditions, documenting changes and reporting any concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families about their skin condition, treatment plans, and how to manage their condition at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Continuously stay informed of current trends and advancements in dermatology nursing and implement best practices into patient care.
- Participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Act as a liaison between patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution Is Required For A Dermatology Registered Nurse Position At Uchealth. This Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices.
Current Rn License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid And Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Colorado Or Be Eligible To Obtain One. This Demonstrates That The Nurse Is Qualified To Practice And Provide Safe And Competent Care.
Previous Dermatology Experience: Uchealth Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In Dermatology Nursing. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Skin Conditions, Treatments, And Procedures, As Well As Familiarity With Dermatology Equipment And Tools.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In The Field Of Nursing, And It Is Especially Important In Dermatology Where The Nurse Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Team Members. Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are A Must For This Role.
