Job Description

Welcome to the team at UCHealth! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Coordinator for our Blood Services department. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and availability of blood products for our patients. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. If you are a team player and have experience in blood donation and/or transfusion services, we would love to have you join our team.

  1. Coordinate and oversee all activities related to blood services within the organization.
  2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards for blood donation and transfusion services.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with blood donation organizations and suppliers.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of blood products to ensure adequate supply for patient needs.
  5. Coordinate blood drives and other donation events, including scheduling, recruitment, and donor communication.
  6. Train and supervise staff members responsible for blood collection, processing, and distribution.
  7. Perform quality control checks on blood products to ensure safety and accuracy.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all blood services activities.
  9. Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with other departments to manage blood supply needs.
  10. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate and timely transfusion of blood products to patients.
  11. Educate staff and community members on the importance of blood donation and the process of blood transfusion.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to blood services.
  13. Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless flow of blood products and services.
  14. Adhere to and promote organizational values of compassion, integrity, and excellence.
  15. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on advancements in blood services and transfusion medicine.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Or Medical Technology.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Blood Services Or Blood Bank Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Collection And Processing Procedures, As Well As Federal And State Regulations Related To Blood Donation.

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks And Priorities.

  • Experience In Training And Supervising Staff, As Well As Coordinating And Leading Teams In A Healthcare Setting.
