  1. Develop and facilitate comprehensive childbirth education classes for expectant parents, covering topics such as pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
  2. Provide individualized support and guidance to expectant parents, addressing their unique needs and concerns throughout their pregnancy journey.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, and physicians, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to maternity care.
  4. Stay up-to-date on current childbirth practices and evidence-based research to provide the most relevant and accurate information to expectant parents.
  5. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all parents, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
  6. Utilize effective communication skills to ensure that parents feel comfortable asking questions and participating in discussions.
  7. Foster a sense of community and support among expectant parents, encouraging peer-to-peer connections and networking.
  8. Provide emotional support and resources for parents experiencing pregnancy complications or challenging circumstances.
  9. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote and advertise childbirth education classes and services.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential records of class attendance and content covered.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in maternal health and education.
  12. Serve as a resource and advocate for expectant parents, providing them with accurate and reliable information and resources.
  13. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment for colleagues and team members.
  14. Adhere to all safety and medical protocols in accordance with UCHealth policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Training: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Nursing, Midwifery, Or Public Health, As Well As Specialized Training In Childbirth Education.

  • Experience In Childbirth Education: Previous Experience Teaching Childbirth Education Classes, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Current Best Practices And Evidence-Based Information.

  • Strong Communication And Teaching Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Information To A Diverse Audience And Adapt Teaching Methods To Meet The Needs Of Different Learning Styles.

  • Knowledge Of Maternal And Infant Health: A Thorough Understanding Of The Stages Of Pregnancy, Labor, And Delivery, As Well As Common Complications And Interventions. Familiarity With Postpartum Care And Infant Care Is Also Important.

  • Certification In Childbirth Education: Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Hold A Certification In Childbirth Education, Such As The Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (Lcce) Or The International Childbirth Education Association (Icea) Certification.
