1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the medical physics department, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to patients.
2. Collaborate with other medical professionals, including physicians, radiation therapists, and dosimetrists, to develop treatment plans and ensure the accuracy of radiation dose delivery.
3. Provide consultation and expertise on radiation safety, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance.
4. Stay up-to-date with advancements in medical physics technology and techniques, and make recommendations for their implementation within the department.
5. Develop and maintain quality control programs to ensure the accuracy and safety of radiation therapy equipment and procedures.
6. Train and supervise medical physics staff, ensuring they are following all established protocols and guidelines.
7. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of all radiation therapy equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Monitor and analyze data related to patient treatment outcomes and make recommendations for process improvements.
9. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments and teams within the healthcare organization.
10. Participate in relevant research and development activities to advance the field of medical physics and improve patient care.
