  1. Develop and maintain radiation safety protocols and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Oversee and coordinate the medical physics program, including quality assurance and quality control processes.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  4. Perform regular equipment checks and calibrations to ensure accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy.
  5. Lead and supervise a team of medical physicists, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  6. Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in the field of medical physics and implement them into practice.
  7. Conduct research and participate in clinical trials to improve treatment outcomes for patients.
  8. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select new equipment and technology for the department.
  9. Provide expertise and guidance to other healthcare professionals, including physicians and radiation therapists, regarding the use of radiation therapy.
  10. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and equipment performance.
  11. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the radiation therapy equipment and make necessary recommendations for maintenance and upgrades.
  12. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, including those set by the Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to address any concerns or questions regarding radiation therapy treatment.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among staff members.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In The Field Of Medical Physics, With A Focus On Radiation Therapy And Imaging Technology.

  • Board Certification By The American Board Of Radiology Or Equivalent Organization.

  • Advanced Degree In Medical Physics, Such As A Phd Or Dmp, From An Accredited Institution.

  • Proven Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, And Other Support Staff.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements And Guidelines Related To Medical Physics, Including But Not Limited To Nrc, Fda, And Joint Commission.
