- Accurately document and track cancer cases in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure timely and complete submission of cancer data to relevant agencies and databases.
- Perform quality checks and audits to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary information for cancer case documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes to improve data collection and reporting.
- Regularly review and update cancer data records to reflect changes in patient treatment and status.
- Maintain knowledge of current cancer coding and staging protocols.
- Serve as a resource to healthcare providers and staff on cancer data collection and reporting.
- Participate in educational and training opportunities to stay current with industry changes and advancements.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in handling sensitive patient information.
- Communicate with patients and their families in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with other members of the cancer care team to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced cancer registrars.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives related to cancer data collection and reporting.
- Adhere to all UCHealth policies and procedures.
Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Certification From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cancer Registrar In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Cancer Registry Operations, Including Data Collection, Coding, And Quality Assurance.
Proficiency In Medical Terminology, Icd-O Coding, And Use Of Cancer Registry Software Systems.
