- Perform regular and preventative maintenance on all biomedical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure equipment is available and functioning properly for patient care.
- Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance services as needed.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Train users on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and regulations related to biomedical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address equipment needs.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency repairs.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and assist with procurement as needed.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or A Related Field, Such As Electrical Engineering Or Computer Science. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation In The Necessary Technical Skills And Knowledge Needed For The Job.
Experience In Medical Equipment Maintenance And Repair: The Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Maintaining And Repairing Medical Equipment In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Troubleshooting, Calibrating, And Performing Routine Maintenance On A Variety Of Biomedical Equipment.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Standards And Compliance: A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Standards And Compliance Requirements For Biomedical Equipment Is Crucial For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Organizations Such As The Joint Commission And Osha, And Be Able To Ensure All Equipment Meets Their Standards.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Biomedical Equipment Technician, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Various Departments And Individuals Within The Healthcare Organization. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Collaborating With Colleagues, Educating Staff On Equipment Usage, And Providing Excellent Customer Service.
