  1. Assist anesthesiologist with various tasks before, during, and after surgeries.
  2. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  3. Handle and maintain medical equipment related to anesthesia.
  4. Prepare and set up equipment for surgeries according to established protocols.
  5. Monitor patient vitals and alert medical staff of any changes or concerns.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and procedures.
  7. Follow strict infection control and safety protocols.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients.

  12. Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Anesthesia Technician At Uchealth Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Understanding Of Academic And Technical Skills Required For The Job.

  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.a.t.): Candidates Should Hold A Valid Certification From The American Society Of Anesthesia Technologists And Technicians (Asatt) As A Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.a.t.). This Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of The Principles And Procedures Of Anesthesia Technology.

  • Experience In An Operating Room Setting: Previous Experience In An Operating Room Or Critical Care Environment Is Preferred For This Position. It Shows That The Candidate Has A Working Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques, Surgical Instrumentation, And Patient Monitoring Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Anesthesia Equipment And Supplies: Candidates Should Have A Good Understanding Of Anesthesia Equipment And Supplies, Including Their Proper Use And Maintenance. This Knowledge Is Critical For Ensuring The Safety And Effectiveness Of Anesthesia Procedures.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills: Anesthesia Technicians Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Manage Multiple Tasks And Procedures Simultaneously. This Ensures That All Equipment And Supplies Are Properly Prepared And Ready For Use During Procedures.
