- Provide compassionate and personalized care to expectant mothers and their families during the childbirth process.
- Utilize advanced skills and knowledge to support patients and contribute to positive birth experiences.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being during labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions to identify any potential complications.
- Educate and support patients and their families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Assist with the delivery of the baby and provide immediate postpartum care.
- Document and communicate patient care activities and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For An Advanced Care Partner (Acp) Position At Uchealth. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Can Provide High-Quality Care To Patients.
Current Nursing License In The State Of Colorado: All Acps At Uchealth Must Hold A Current Nursing License In The State Of Colorado. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Education And Competency Requirements To Practice As A Nurse In The State.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery: Uchealth Values Experience In Labor And Delivery, As It Is A Specialized Area Of Nursing. A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In This Setting Is Typically Required For An Acp Position At The Birth Center.
Bls And Nrp Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications Are Necessary For Acps At Uchealth, As They Will Be Working With Both Mothers And Newborns. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Emergency Situations.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Acps At Uchealth Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Nurses, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Providing Coordinated And Effective Patient Care In The Fast-Paced Birth Center Environment.
