Transaction Monitoring Quantitative Specialist

UBS is looking for a passionate and motivated Transaction Monitoring Quantitative Specialist who has a strong background in quantitative analytics and a desire to make an impact. As a Quantitative Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and clients to help create a monitoring system that ensures compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations.To be successful in this role, you should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related area. Additionally, you should have at least two years of experience in the financial services industry. Proven experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and/or SAS is preferred.You should be a self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Your enthusiasm in learning new concepts and technologies, as well as your ability to work independently and collaboratively, will be key to your success.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain a monitoring system for compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations
2. Analyze and interpret quantitative data to identify suspicious activity
3. Utilize programming languages such as Python, R, and/or SAS to create automated processes for transaction monitoring
4. Implement new technologies and procedures to ensure timely and effective transaction monitoring
5. Collaborate with colleagues and clients to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance
6. Provide support and guidance to colleagues in understanding the regulatory requirements
7. Monitor and report on suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities
8. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of project deliverables
9. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all transactions
10. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a smooth workflow
