- Develop and maintain a reliable and scalable data science infrastructure to support UBS' global financial services operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration of data science solutions into existing systems.
- Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and troubleshoot potential issues before they impact operations.
- Implement and maintain best practices for data security and privacy to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Continuously improve and optimize data science infrastructure to enhance its performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data science infrastructure and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency.
- Proactively identify potential risks and provide recommendations for mitigating them.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and identify opportunities for improvement within the data science infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy data-driven solutions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely and effective resolution for any data science infrastructure-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert for data science infrastructure, providing guidance and support to other team members as needed.

Strong Understanding Of Data Science Principles And Techniques: A Site Reliability Engineer (Sre) At Ubs Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Data Science Concepts, Tools, And Techniques Such As Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, And Data Mining. This Knowledge Is Essential For Implementing And Maintaining Robust Data-Driven Systems.
Experience In Software Engineering And Development: Sres Must Have A Strong Background In Software Engineering And Development, With Experience In Programming Languages Like Python, Java, And Sql. They Should Be Familiar With Software Development Processes, Version Control Systems, And Code Review Practices.
Proficiency In Cloud Computing And Infrastructure: Given The Increasing Trend Towards Cloud Computing, It Is Crucial For An Sre To Have Experience With Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud. They Should Be Able To Design And Manage Cloud Infrastructure To Ensure High Availability, Scalability, And Performance Of Data Science Systems.
Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Complex Technical Issues: As An Sre, One Must Have Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Troubleshoot Complex Technical Issues In Real-Time. They Should Have Experience In Monitoring And Diagnosing System Failures, And Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Issues To Minimize Downtime.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: Sres At Ubs Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Data Scientists, Software Engineers, And Business Stakeholders. Therefore, Effective Communication, Collaboration, And Interpersonal Skills Are Critical For Success In This Role.
