In this role, you will play a critical role in managing investment risks for our clients and advising our financial advisors on discretionary portfolio strategies.   1. Develop and implement risk management strategies for discretionary portfolios, including monitoring and analyzing market trends and potential risks.
  2. Advise financial advisors on portfolio strategies and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential areas of concern for clients' portfolios.
  4. Stay informed on industry regulations and changes in financial markets to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
  5. Collaborate with other risk management and compliance teams to ensure overall risk management strategy is aligned with company goals.
  6. Monitor and report on the performance of discretionary portfolios and provide insights and recommendations to improve risk-adjusted returns.
  7. Communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical audiences, including financial advisors and clients.
  8. Conduct in-depth analysis of various asset classes and make informed decisions on portfolio rebalancing and asset allocation.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners to stay informed on market trends and potential risks.
  10. Continuously review and enhance risk management processes and procedures to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  11. Train and mentor junior risk management team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  12. Maintain a high level of personal accountability and integrity in all risk management decisions and actions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Economics, Or A Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Finance Is Essential For A Risk Manager At Ubs. This Provides A Solid Foundation In Financial Principles And Analytical Skills Necessary For The Role.

  • Relevant Work Experience In Risk Management: At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Risk Management Within The Financial Industry Is Typically Required For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Thorough Understanding Of Financial Markets And Risk Assessment Techniques.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Compliance: A Risk Manager At Ubs Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements And Compliance Standards In The Financial Industry. This Includes Knowledge Of Anti-Money Laundering (Aml) Laws And Regulations.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Analyze Complex Financial Data, Identify Potential Risks, And Develop Effective Risk Management Strategies Is Crucial For This Role. A Candidate Should Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Address Potential Issues Proactively.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Risk Manager At Ubs, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Financial Advisors And Other Team Members. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Communicate Risk Assessments And Recommendations To Various Stakeholders.
