We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Architect to join our Wealth Management Americas (WMA) Technology team. As a Mainframe Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the mainframe systems that power our WMA division. A successful candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for developing robust and efficient mainframe solutions.   1. Design and develop mainframe systems to support the Wealth Management Americas (WMA) division.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable mainframe solutions.
  3. Conduct research and evaluate new technologies to continuously improve and optimize mainframe systems.
  4. Create technical documentation and diagrams to clearly communicate system architecture and design.
  5. Identify and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
  6. Develop and maintain coding standards and best practices for mainframe development.
  7. Monitor and analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology to ensure UBS remains at the forefront.
  9. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers on mainframe architecture and development.
  10. Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and successful delivery of mainframe solutions.
  11. Adhere to security and compliance standards while designing and implementing mainframe systems.
  12. Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular updates on project progress.
  13. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality code.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to mainframe systems.
  15. Continuously monitor and improve system performance to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Mainframe Architecture: A Mainframe Architect At Ubs Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Mainframe Systems, Including Hardware, Software, And Network Infrastructure. They Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working With Mainframe Technologies In A Large Enterprise Environment.

  • Strong Technical Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Strong Technical Background And Be Proficient In Programming Languages Such As Cobol, Pl/1, And Assembler. They Should Also Have Experience With Mainframe Databases, Such As Db2, Ims, And Vsam.

  • Knowledge Of Wma (Wealth Management Americas) Technology: Ubs Is A Leading Financial Institution In The Wealth Management Industry, And The Mainframe Architect Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Wma Technology And Its Role In The Organization. This Includes Knowledge Of Wma-Specific Applications And Platforms, Such As Beta, Sei, And Avaloq.

  • Project Management Experience: Mainframe Architects At Ubs Are Responsible For Leading And Managing Complex Projects, From Design To Implementation. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Have Proven Experience In Project Management, Including Budgeting, Resource Allocation, And Stakeholder Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Mainframe Architect At Ubs, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Developers, Engineers, And Business Stakeholders. Therefore, Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Work Collaboratively To Achieve Project Goals.
