Job Description

The U.S. Department of State is looking for a highly-motivated and dedicated Security Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the security of the United States diplomatic mission and personnel. We are looking for an individual who is able to take on the challenge of protecting our diplomats and the critical information they carry. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as security, law enforcement, criminal justice, or international relations. In addition, a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a security-related field is required. The candidate should have excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work independently and employ sound judgment in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of security systems and procedures, as well as a working knowledge of federal security regulations and diplomatic security standards, is also required. We are looking for a Security Specialist who is ready to take on the challenge and become an integral part of the U.S. Department of State's team. Are you up for it?

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the safety of U.S. diplomatic personnel and facilities.
  2. Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and access control systems, to identify any security threats.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks to the mission and personnel.
  4. Respond to security incidents and coordinate the response of security personnel.
  5. Supervise staff in the security division, including training and evaluating personnel.
  6. Liaise with other government agencies and foreign counterparts to ensure information is shared and coordinated.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and other security stakeholders.
  8. Monitor and report on security trends and threats to the mission.
  9. Ensure compliance with federal security regulations and diplomatic security standards.
  10. Maintain accurate records of security incidents and investigations.

Job Qualifications
