
Attorney Adviser
Are you an experienced attorney with a dedication to public service? We are looking for an Attorney Adviser to join the U.S. Department of State and serve as a critical member of our team. The Attorney Adviser will provide essential legal advice and guidance on legal matters of the Department of State, and will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our mission. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of professional legal experience and be licensed to practice law in a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. The candidate should also have experience with research, analysis, and interpretation of legal issues and be knowledgeable of the laws, policies, and regulations of the Department of State.If you are a highly qualified attorney with a passion for public service, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities of an Attorney Adviser: • Provide legal advice and guidance on legal matters of the Department of State • Research, analyze, and interpret legal issues • Advise on Department of State laws, policies, and regulations • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Department of State laws, policies, and regulations • Represent the Department of State in legal proceedings • Draft legal documents and contracts • Review documents for compliance with applicable laws • Provide training on legal topics to government officials • Monitor and report on changes in relevant legislation and regulations
