
Staff Therapist
Welcome to Tulane University's Counseling Services team! We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join us as a Staff Therapist. As a Staff Therapist, you will have the opportunity to provide individual and group therapy to our diverse student population, as well as participate in outreach and consultation services. - Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for students, utilizing evidence-based techniques and approaches.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for students to express their concerns and challenges.
- Assess and evaluate students' mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and client progress.
- Collaborate with other members of the Counseling Services team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for students.
- Participate in outreach efforts to increase awareness of mental health services and resources available on campus.
- Provide consultation services to faculty, staff, and other campus partners regarding mental health concerns.
- Stay informed and up-to-date on best practices and research related to mental health and counseling.
- Adhere to ethical and legal guidelines in all aspects of therapy and client care.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for students of diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Attend regular supervision and team meetings to discuss cases and seek support and guidance.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of students and the Counseling Services team.
- Act as an advocate for students' mental health needs and work to destigmatize seeking support.
- Continuously assess and reflect on personal biases and cultural competence to provide culturally sensitive care.
- Serve as a role model for students and embody the values and mission of Tulane University's Counseling Services.
Master's Degree In Counseling Or Psychology: A Strong Educational Background Is Essential For A Staff Therapist At Tulane University. Candidates Should Possess A Master's Degree In Counseling Or Psychology From An Accredited Institution.
State Licensure: The Candidate Must Have A Valid State License To Practice As A Therapist. This Is A Requirement For All Therapists At Tulane University To Ensure High-Quality And Ethical Services To Students.
Experience In Counseling: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Counseling Is Preferred For This Role. Candidates Should Have Experience Working With Diverse Populations, Including College Students, And Be Familiar With Evidence-Based Therapeutic Techniques.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Staff Therapist, Strong Communication Skills Are Essential To Effectively Work With Students, Colleagues, And Other Members Of The University Community. Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Communicate Effectively Both Verbally And In Writing.
