  1. Accurately collect, analyze, and report clinical data to support quality improvement initiatives and research studies.
  2. Ensure data integrity and compliance with all relevant regulations and protocols.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven solutions.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of healthcare processes and procedures to accurately interpret and analyze clinical data.
  5. Utilize electronic health record systems and other data management tools to collect and organize data.

  7. Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  10. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive patient information.
  11. Take initiative to identify and propose process improvements to streamline data collection and analysis.
  12. Maintain all necessary documentation and records related to data abstraction activities.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  14. Attend meetings and conferences related to data abstraction and quality improvement.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent Tulane University in a positive manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position, With A Preference For Candidates Who Have Completed An Accredited Registered Nurse Program.

  • Active Rn License: Candidates Must Possess An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Louisiana, With A Strong Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Healthcare And Data Abstraction.

  • Clinical Data Abstraction Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Clinical Data Abstraction, Preferably In A Hospital Or Academic Medical Center Setting. Experience With Electronic Health Records And Data Management Systems Is Highly Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Coding: A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Coding Systems Such As Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Have Experience With Data Validation And Quality Assurance Processes.

  • Strong Analytical And Communication Skills: The Ability To Analyze And Interpret Complex Medical Data And Communicate Findings Effectively Is Crucial For This Position. Candidates Should Also Have Excellent Attention To Detail And The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
