  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality patient care under the supervision of a certified medical assistant or healthcare professional.
  2. Assist with patient intake and registration, including collecting and recording patient information and vital signs.
  3. Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
  4. Assist with basic medical procedures such as administering injections, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens.
  5. Help patients with mobility and activities of daily living, as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure a positive and supportive patient experience.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on medical practices and procedures.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by working effectively with other team members and supporting a culture of teamwork and respect.
  11. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and continuously strive to improve the patient experience.
  12. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.

  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervising healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Medical Assistant Program: Applicants Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program For Medical Assistants, Preferably Accredited By The Commission On Accreditation Of Allied Health Education Programs (Caahep).

  • Previous Experience In A Clinical Setting: While Certification Is Not Required, Applicants Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Either As A Medical Assistant Or In A Similar Role.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: Applicants Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology, As Well As Common Medical Procedures And Protocols.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Medical Assistants At Tulane University Are Expected To Handle A High Volume Of Tasks And Patient Interactions, So Applicants Should Have The Ability To Multitask And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
