- Manage and oversee all aspects of Tulane University’s collections, including but not limited to acquisition, cataloging, preservation, and exhibition.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization and maintenance of the collections, ensuring they align with the university’s mission and goals.
- Ensure the proper handling and care of all collections, including sensitive and valuable items, to preserve their integrity and longevity.
- Collaborate with faculty, curators, and researchers to identify and prioritize collection needs, and facilitate access for academic and public use.
- Supervise a team of collection staff and volunteers, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure the smooth operation of the collections.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all collections, including inventories and loan agreements.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of collections to identify and address any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Stay current with best practices and industry standards for collections management, and implement necessary updates and changes to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions to facilitate loans, exchanges, and collaborations related to the collections.
- Represent Tulane University and its collections at professional conferences, events, and meetings, promoting the institution’s commitment to excellence in education and research.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Business Administration Or Finance.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Collections Management, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Relevant Laws, Regulations, And Procedures Related To Collections And Debt Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Negotiate And Build Relationships With Borrowers.
Experience With Financial Management And Budgeting, As Well As Data Analysis And Reporting.
