- Develop and implement strategies and policies to ensure the security of all data and information systems at Tulane University.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the information security team, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability tests to identify potential security threats and develop proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and developments, and make recommendations for new security protocols and technologies as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that security measures are integrated into all aspects of university operations.
- Lead incident response efforts in the event of a cyber attack or data breach, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to contain and remediate the issue.
- Develop and deliver training programs for faculty, staff, and students to promote awareness of information security best practices and policies.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the security of outsourced systems and data.
- Monitor and analyze security logs and reports to identify potential security breaches and provide timely and accurate reporting to university leadership.
- Serve as the university's main point of contact for all cybersecurity-related matters and represent Tulane in discussions with external entities, such as government agencies and industry associations.
A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Information Security And/Or It Risk Management, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices And Regulations Related To Information Security, Such As Hipaa, Ferpa, And Pci-Dss.
Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Effective Information Security Policies, Procedures, And Controls.
Experience Leading And Managing A Team Of Information Security Professionals, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams.
A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Computer Science, Information Systems, Or Cybersecurity, Is Required. Industry Certifications, Such As Cissp Or Cism, Are Preferred.
